Dozin' with the Dinos - FRIDAY, March 5, 2010

Thank you for the overwhelming response to our museum overnight, Dozin' with the Dinos!

I was able to contact the Field Museum and reserve additional spots for our group. Everyone who gave me permission slips and checks at the Pack meeting last night now has a confirmed spot for the overnight.

I do also have additional spots available for anyone who is interested in coming, but has not turned in permission forms and checks. Once again, it is first come, first served. I currently have 29 additional spots available. You can drop off permission slips and checks ($51 per person, made out to Pack 887) to my house.

I did a quick combination of all the camping dates from all these emails so we can all work from the same page:

This years theme is Cub Scout Summer Camp 2010: Night at the Museum

Registration Opens January 2, 2010. Registration Deadline is March 31...then late fees etc.

Hiking Club Calendar

The "Hiking Club" is always open to ALL scouts and their families. Whether you're actively participating in the program or not, you're always welcome to attend.

Miles are tracked for Scouts and their parents (sorry, no siblings), and Scout miles carry over into Boy Scouts!

January Hike - 1/23/2010 - Danada Equestrian Center

Two-mile nature trail hike (see map):

- Meet at the Danada Equestrian Center - 1:00pm. The Equestrian Center is on the EAST side of Naperville Rd.
- Travel east on the Regional Trail
- continue to the nature trail and follow around the loop counterclockwise
- Travel North to the regional trail (marker 17)
- Travel south on the regional trail to marker 16. Then west back to the Danada Equestrian Center.

** Sorry - the previously announced Sleigh Rides do not run on Saturdays.

February Hike - 2/27/2010 - Blackwell Forest Preserve

- Time, Route and distance TBD

- Snow tubing activity available following the hike.

Now available from the scout store... BSA 100th Anniversary Ring patch.

This patch goes around the round "World Crest" emblem on the uniform. About $1.50 at the Scout Shop
