2010 Fishing Derby!

The Pack 887/888 Annual "Back to School" fishing Derby is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 27th 2010 from 4:30-6:30pm at Springbrook Crossing Park. (Naper/Plainfield Rd & Leverenz)
The pack will supply the worms... just bring a pole and show up! We'll also have a few extra poles available to those who may not have fishing gear.
Adults that fish should have a valid Illinois fishing license - the kids don't need them.
We'll be tracking QUALITY (size) and QUANTITY... may the best fisherman win!
This was one of our bigger events last year with 15 scouts in attendance. A great way to cap off the first week of school... and the start of another fantastic Scouting year!
Don't forget bug spray!

The "Hiking Club" is always open to ALL scouts and their families. Whether you're actively participating in the program or not, you're always welcome to attend. Miles are tracked for Scouts and their parents (sorry, no siblings), and Scout miles carry over into Boy Scouts!
July: Hike and PACK PICNIC! Where: Starved Rock State Park, Utica, IL When: Saturday, July 17, 2010 Details: TBD Mileage: We will be offering variable mileage for this event. There will be opportunity for scouts to rack up more miles than usual! We'll be doing a few hikes of varying mileage. This will be an all-day event! August: Back-to-school hike and ICE CREAM SOCIAL Where: TBD - Springbrook Prairie or Knoch Knolls Park When: Saturday, Aug. 21 Details: TBD Mileage: ~2.5-4 miles
